I've been taking pictures since my parents bought me a Brownie box camera at age 5. With a background in field biology, I seek to portray not only the actual scene before me, but also the understanding I have and the reverence I feel when I look at any aspect of nature.

My desire is that my photographs will accurately reflect my subject. Hence, I shy away from using flash, preferring to rely on natural lighting. Likewise, I want the colors in my pictures to be the ones I actually saw in the real world.

If you enjoy this site, you might also find my blog of interest. There, my main subjects include gardening and wild birds, although I am certainly not limited to these two topics. Find me at blog.mountain-plover.com

It is my hope that my work captures, at least in part, the magnificence of God's creation. Enjoy!
